319 Nonpoint Source Program (NPS)

The 319 NPS Program works in conjunction with the 106 Water Quality Program to identify water quality concerns by monitoring land usage. The CRST’s main land use is agriculture. Agricultural activities that may cause NPS pollution on the reservation can include over grazing, plowing (too often or at the wrong time), and improper application of fertilizer or pesticides.
